Branching Out

A tree cannot offer good fruit unless it has healthy roots. From the standpoint of this philosophy, Mountain View Bible Church seeks to branch out, offering good fruit from healthy roots to this troubled area. San Diego, Alpine, and East County are in trouble without the light of the glory of God found in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6).

One small local church, with strong roots in the Gospel of Jesus, can have a huge impact in this troubled world. We want to be this small local church. We desire to reach out with the Gospel to our immediate area. Our hope and prayer is that Jesus Christ will use us, as well as all His local churches, to bring healing to this hurting county.

While our focus is fixed on outreach to our own people first, we do not use this as an excuse to neglect proper outreach to the non-churched. Periodically, during the year, Mountain View desires to offer outreach events with the primary focus of reaching out to this troubled city. These events may take the form of community services, where the church goes out to the unchurched, as well as church events geared towards bringing the unchurched in to our building.

In addition, Mountain View is the largest single supporter of Compassion Ministries, a para-church ministry that’s primary focus is outreach to the poor. Our own, Dr. Randal Torres is the founder and president of this important local ministry. What about our World Outreach?
