Ezekiel 39:23-28
“The nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile for their iniquity because they acted treacherously against Me, and I hid My face from them; so I gave them into the hand of their adversaries…Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, ‘Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel…They will forget their disgrace and all their treachery which they perpetrated against Me, when they live securely on their own land with no one to make them afraid. When I bring them back from the peoples and gather them from the lands of their enemies, then I shall be proved holy through them in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God because I made them go into exile among the nations, and then gathered them again to their own land.'”

Does God have a special plan for Israel in the last days? The Bible says He most definitely does. There are ancient prophecies found in Scripture, like the one above, that foretell a regathering of Israel to the promised land in the last days for a special purpose.

Why did God take away their land and scatter them in the first place? Since Israel denied their God and rejected their Messiah, Jesus Christ, God punished them by taking away their nation and scattering them throughout the world. But because of His great love for Israel, and because of His mercy, God promised after a time to bring them back again. This has begun to happen before our very eyes!

Beginning in 1948 when the nation of Israel was reestablished (and even before that), there has been a steady flow of Jewish people returning to the promised land from all over the world. They call this movement aliyah. Aliyah is nothing short of a miracle and is solid proof that the God of the Bible, the God of Israel, keeps His Word and makes known what will happen long before it comes to pass!

Isaiah 46:10

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.'”

You might ask, “So,what’s God’s special plan for Israel? Why is God gathering them back? And, what does the Bible say will happen next?” These are very important questions that every follower of Jesus Christ ought to know the answers to. All eyes should be on Israel in these last days as we wait for God to bring to pass what He said would happen long ago. So, stay tuned for the next post from Mountain View as we look into prophetic Scripture and discover what’s to come.

But for now, be in awe at the wonder and power of God; a God who “makes known from ancient times what is still to come.” Glory in His Word, the Bible, and how true it is. He tells us what’s going to happen and then fulfills it so that we will know He is God and there is none other. “When I bring them back from the peoples and gather them from the lands of their enemies, then I shall be proved holy through them in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God because I made them go into exile among the nations, and then gathered them again to their own land.” (Ezekiel 39:27-28)
